in the creation and development of the Android OS but now the world

The Wikipad: A Tablet Designed for Gaming
There may be a new must have device for gamers. Or perhaps not. The Wikipad
was supposed to launch late last year. However, the release of the new
gaming tablet was delayed due to a flaw in production. However, the
company behind Wikipad may have turned lemons into lemonade, when they
used extra time from the unexpected delay to revise their product.
Product changes were based in part on feedback they received from social
media regarding both the size and the price point.
The price for the device will be lower than the company had
originally planned. There were concerns that the Wikipad was priced too
high for a tablet. The new $249 price tag is expected to be much more
competitive in the tablet market.
Other changes are to the actual device itself. The Wikipad will be sized at 7 inches, rather than the

Facebook Launching Location Tracking App
During the last three months of 2012, Facebook’s mobile daily users,
for the first time ever, surpassed the site’s web daily users. To
accommodate Facebook’s 680 million monthly active mobile app users, 2013
will be spent developing ways to entice even more mobile users, keep users active and interested, and increase revenue at the same time.
Facebook wants to follow users
One of these projects that Facebook is focusing on and plans to
release in mid- March, is a smartphone application intended to help
users find nearby friends by tracking the location of other Rosa Linux 2012
When looking for something exciting and fresh in the world of Linux distributions, it can be easy to focus on the same names over and over again. However, a recently released update has made one name stand out from the crowd. The newest updates to ROSA Linux comes with new attractions, that will interest both business users and developers. ROSA Linux is made by ROSA Labs, a Russian company. ROSA Linux is a free and open source distribution with a customized KDE desktop. It is user friendly, with multiple modifications that allow for ease of use.
Business users may find most interesting the version of ROSA Linux released last May. Called ROSA Marathon 2012, it offers all of the components that the standard business user would typically need. According to the company’s website, the user will have a “ready workplace with no need to install office suite, graphic editor, anti-virus software, media players, ICQ-like clients, dictionaries and other basic software…” Moreover, long term technical support is also offered by ROSA Marathon 2012. The product is offered in two editions. The free edition includes free software only, whereas the Extended Edition also comes with non-free components and proprietary software.
The December release of ROSA Linux, called ROSA Desktop.Fresh 2012, is geared towards those Linux enthusiasts who want something new and experimental. The company states that ROSA Desktop.Fresh 2012 is “an area for experiments with the freshest software components.” This release is perhaps not suited for those who are new to Linux, but rather for those who are already familiar with Linux components. ROSA Fresh is a non-commercial product and as such, is distributed free of charge.
Both versions are compatible with a wide range of hardware, and available in multiple major languages. Additionally, both versions are compliant with the Linux Standards BASE, which is important for those users who would like to launch LSB-compliant applications.
Winbot – The Window Cleaning Robot
Robots that can clean your house is not a new concept. Vacuuming
robots like Roomba and Neato have become essential to many who despise
the chore. However, Ecovacs, a China-based company has taken this idea
in a new direction. Winbot is an efficient, robotic window washing device and the world’s first window robot capable of cleaning windows of any thickness, even Thermopane windows .
How it works
The Winbot uses powerful vacuum suction to affix itself securely to the window while allowing it to move and clean simultaneously. To use, simply spray the washable fiber cleaning pad with its own specially formulated and recommended window cleaning solution, turn on the robot and place it on the window. Then just sit back while Winbot does all the work. The intelligent device will automatically detect the window’s size and determine a proper cleaning path for your window. Traveling in a zigzag pattern around the window, the machine washes, squeegees, and dries it to a streak-free shine.
Safety Features
To prevent falls, the Winbot is outfitted with dual suction rings. The outer ring contains sensors to detect loss of suction. If suction loss is detected the robot will then changed directions and select a new cleaning path. In case any problems should occur, the device will stop cleaning, flash and indicator light and sound an alarm.
For cleaning windows above ground level, the Winbot comes complete with a Safety Pod. The pod suctions to your wall and works dually as both a safety cord and an extension cord for tall or hard to reach windows. Other positive attributes of the Winbot are the rounded bumper made of extremely soft material on the exterior which prevent scratches on the glass, and the side rollers which protect the robot and the window frame.
Prices and Availability
There are two models of the Winbot available. The standard model works on any window with a frame or apparent border and is priced at $299 (16020.42Rupees). The high end model, priced at $349, is equipped with border detection and is capable of cleaning glass walls, and frameless mirrors and windows. Winbot was first introduced in China last year and is expected to be available for purchase in the U.S. this coming spring.

Fleksy Makes Texting Easy
How many times has your auto-correct failed you while texting? While
these mishaps are occasionally humorous, it can also be quite
frustrating. If you are someone who is known for sending misspelled text
message due to an undesirable auto-correct program, or just large or
clumsy fingers, there is now a revolutionary new app designed for your
benefit.
A new writing prediction program for touchscreens, Fleksy, was created by Syntellia. The app started out as the virtual keyboard Blindtype, and brought innovation and technology to people with disabilities, specifically the blind and individuals who are visually impaired. This forecast engine can also be of assistance to all people who have trouble correctly typing on smartphones and tablets.
The Fleksy Keyboard
The keyboard’s layout uses the standard QWERTY design for user familiarity. This technology doesn’t require any degree of accuracy by the user. By just tapping on the screen, Fleksy can detect what the user meant to type by analyzing context and typing patterns, even if entire word is scrambled or every single key is mistyped. This software out performs similar technology on the market today in both speed and accuracy. This remarkable app allows the user to literally close their eyes or focus their eyes on something else entirely, while still managing to send a perfectly spelled text.
Kostas Eleftheriou, the Syntellia co-founder and CEO, explains. “Typing is still the biggest frustration for customers using smartphones and tablets. The result is that some people won’t buy a touchscreen device, and others won’t use their devices nearly as much as they could. It’s actually the biggest barrier to smartphone and tablet adoption right now,”
Availability
Fleksy’s alternative keyboard app is now a free download on iTunes and is available on iOS and in beta on Android. Currently, Syntellia is launching a beta version of Android in Spanish that is now open for testing enrollment.
So, now you can say goodbye to the accidental misspellings and indecipherable texts. Could this be the best thing to hit the cell phone market since the touchscreen itself?

Google Handwrite Gets Upgraded
Google handwrite is a nifty tool that has proven to be extremely
helpful to a lot of people ever since it was introduced last summer as a
beta. Recently, Google
has announced that they have improved the tool making it faster and
easier to use. The tool now offers more options, and is highly flexible
to cater to a wide variety of users irrespective of the language they
use to perform searches.
Similarly, multiple Chinese characters can now be written in a line.
If you wish to activate the new and improved beta version of Google handwrite, log onto Google.com through your smartphone or Tablet, go to settings and simply enable Handwrite.
Another implication of a new and improved Google Handwrite is that Google will be able to understand all kinds of handwriting in most languages of the world. When you scribble something, Google provides you with a few options, and you choose the correct option.
This allows them to understand your handwriting better, in the future it can be expected that after using Handwrite for a while, Google would simply understand your handwriting and how you shape different characters. This could give birth to scanning solutions that can digitize any handwritten document. With the Google is expanding and enhancing its products, we wouldn’t be surprised if the company becomes the first to create a completely self reliant artificial intelligence.
According to Google’s announcement, the following features have been introduced in the recent update:
1. Differentiate Between Similar Characters Easily
You can now differentiate between 1, l (lower case L) and I (upper case “i”), as the tool now allows you to pick from a list of options when you write a letter that can be confused with others. The same goes for Chinese characters that may be confused for each other. The users can simply write the letter, and let Handwrite provide them with a list of options to choose from.2. Write Overlapping Letters
The screen of your smartphone may not be broad enough to write “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from right to left, but that shouldn’t worry you anymore, as Handwrite now reads over lapping words. You can simply keep writing one alphabet over the other and Google will read it one after the other placing it in correct order.Similarly, multiple Chinese characters can now be written in a line.
