It has been announced that Nokia is preparing to launch a 6-inch Lumia 1520 Windows Phone. The Verge released a few sneaked pieces of imformaiton last month but new photos of the device have now emerged. The rumours are that the device will have 2GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 6-inch 1080p display, 32GB of storage, and an SD slot. The Lumia 1520 takes photos at 5-megapixel and 16-megapixel resolution simultaneously.
The rear of the device includes a camera with a hump that’s similar to Nokia’s Lumia 925. The device will no doubt take full advantage of the latest Windows Operating System, currently it is Microsoft’s latest Windows Phone 8 update, known as General Distribution 3. It is still not clear if this particular handset will include a stylus, like Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3, or whether the new Microsoft and Nokia partnership have made significant improvements on the software side to support large-screen Windows Phones. Details of Microsoft’s upcoming GDR3 update, which will ship with the Lumia 1520, leaked earlier this week. The update includes a Driving Mode feature designed to mute calls and texts automatically when paired by Bluetooth to a car. There is a Rotation lock and there are improved multitasking changes that will also be included, alongside support for custom sounds for text, voice mail, email, and reminders. Nokia is expected to launch the Lumia 1520, which has been codenamed Bandit, on AT&T in the next coming weeks
